Meet the Artist

Hi! I am Sarah the artist and illustrator behind Sarah Gesek Studio. I reside in Seattle, Washington with my little brood of fur children.

As far back as I can remember I’ve always loved art and always known I wanted to be an artist. From the first “what do you want to be when you grow up?” as a child to now, that desire has never faded. But as the story of many goes, life can take us a different direction far from our dreams. I dabbled in other creative pass-times such as jewelry fabrication and photography to placate myself. Painting had my number however and was calling my name.  When the 2020 pandemic hit, I decided to dive headfirst into painting and haven’t looked back.

I find inspiration for my paintings in the world around me; nature being the main catalyst. I frequently paint whimsical interpretations of my travels near and far. My medium of choice is gouache on paper but I love to dabble in anything and everything from acrylic, colored pencils, to wax crayon and beyond.

When I am not painting, I love snuggling up with my pets and binging a good show, reading, exploring in the mountains, and traveling.
